How to Apply


Students will be selected for Meredith STEM College based on STEM interest and potential demonstrated by

1) a statement of interest that shows enthusiasm for and interest in STEM
2) a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
3) successful completion of at least Math 2 or one science class at the high school level
4) an unofficial high school transcript
5) a recommendation letter from a high school science teacher*

Dates for the Summer College are June 19 – June 30, 2023 (Monday through Friday of each week). If there is sufficient interest in the program, a second program will be offered July 8 – July 18, 2023 (Monday through Friday of each week). Please be aware that when you apply, you are applying for the program currently being offered in June.

Applications open in spring 2022. The application deadline for early admission is August 31, 2022. Applications will be accepted through May 1, 2023. In order to be considered for participation in the program, all materials must be submitted by the May 1, 2023 deadline.

Applicants will be notified via email regarding their admission to the program. At that time, additional information will be provided regarding payment, location, orientation, parking, and other relevant information. Please note that each student will need to bring a laptop and provide her own transportation.

**The letter of recommendation must be from a science teacher. The letter should provide evidence of the applicant’s interest and ability in the course of choice. The recommender should email the letter of reference to the director. Upon receipt of the recommendation letter, your teacher will be asked to complete additional recommendation ranking qualifications for the program.

Program Cost


Total cost is $2,000. This includes tuition ($1,200), room & board, and fees ($800).

Scholarships are available for students who qualify for the national school lunch program (as verified by the student’s high school administrator). If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please indicate on the application form that you qualify for the national school lunch program and ask your school administrator to provide the director with the necessary documentation.
