Meredith STEM College Weekend Workshops
Meredith STEM College Weekend Workshops are an opportunity for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade females demonstrating STEM interest to receive programming throughout the academic year in the form of six in-person workshops.
These workshops include bioscience career exploration led by industry experts from RTP, opportunities to network with research scientists from local pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations throughout the Research Triangle, and mentoring and professional development with STEM College faculty, industry professionals, and peers.
The first workshop, scheduled for December, 2022, is a two-day weekend bioscience/technology workshop facilitated by ChickTech. The event kicks off with a speaker followed by hands-on workshops for 1½ days with family and friends invited to see the resulting work products on the second day.
The remaining five one-half to one-day workshops will be held monthly in January through May or June. Past events include a panel discussion with software engineers, an overview of all the Microsoft Cognitive Service pillars as well as Knowledge Mining scenarios, becoming an investor, and “be the life of your holiday party” by lighting up your sweater with Azure IoT Central.
Dates for the events planned for the 2022-23 school year will be announced in September 2022.
